Note: All of these forms are needed to complete your packet:
- Fair Employment Application
- I-9 (you only have to fill out page 1, but print pages 1 and 2)
- DataQuest Background check forms
- Voluntary Affirmative Action Data form
Turn in the completed application, W4, I-9, copies of the required identification, and the background form(s) all of which must be completed before we will accept the application. You may find the list of acceptable documents of Identification on page 9 of the I-9 package.
Remember: Parents / guardians of minors 14-17 years of age must fill out the section on page 2 of the Employment application.
* We are currently not accepting applications for ages 14 to 15 years old due to the high volume of applications received, and shortage of jobs open to those ages.
Admission Ticket Seller
Responsible adult with experience in handling cash and customer service. Will be using Credit Card Machines and computer software to sell tickets. Prior experience is not required, but ability to learn easy computer systems quickly is necessary. Duties include selling tickets,and reconciling cash and credit card slips. Work performed inside ticket booth.
Admission Ticket Scanner
Friendly people oriented individual to scan tickets from people entering the Fair and hand out flyers/bags. Some gates are under cover, but a few are outdoors with no protection from the weather.
Barn Cleaner (overnight)
Able bodied responsible hardworking persons to perform stall maintenance; shoveling, pushing wheelbarrows, etc. During cleaning hours the barns are closed to the public. Work performed inside building. Previous experience working around livestock preferred. Minimum age requirement: 18 years at time of hire.
Responsible adult with experience in handling and reconciling cash, and bookkeeping. Experience with money counters, adding machines, and spreadsheet software such as Excel. Work performed inside a building.
Customer Service Technician (Table Cleaners)
Able-bodied person to work independently as assigned. Pick up litter, wipe up tables in assigned area. Exposure to all weather conditions. Walking and bending required. Must be able to walk, bend and lift up to 20 lbs.
If you have been pre-approved by the Superintendents to work in their departments, you may fill out and print the 2018 Clerk Application. You must have the latest version of Adobe Reader to be able to see and print some of these forms.

Entertainment Usher / Ticket Scanner
Responsible adult to admit persons into entertainment venues. Employee will be working directly with the public in a fast-paced, noisy environment. Must be able to tactfully enforce posted policies, answer questions, work in a crowded area, and stand for extended periods of time. Exposure to all weather conditions.
Able bodied, mature, responsible adult to admit persons and vehicles entering gates. Must understand and enforce management policies. Assist parking crew as directed. Outside; exposed to all weather conditions.
Able bodied, responsible adult to oversee daily operations of assigned gate(s), including, but not limited to, admission sales, customer questions and concerns, and act as a liaison between sellers, cashiers, and customers. Able to understand job requirements of other positions including Cage Cashiers and Ticket Sellers.
Graveyard Maintenance Refuse Removal Crew
Able-bodied responsible adult; Pick-up and removal of refuse from containers throughout the fairgrounds. Ability to lift 40 lbs. Exposed to all weather conditions. Shift is from Midnight to 8 a.m. Minimum age requirement 18 years at time of hire.
Grounds Grooming Crew Lead
Friendly, able bodied, responsible adult to work with and supervise a grounds grooming crew in general clean-up of Fairgrounds. Cleaning off and wiping down tables and benches, sweeping, and litter pick up as required. Extensive walking and bending is required. Assigned to a specific area within the grounds. Work performed outside. Exposure to all weather conditions.

Friendly, mature individuals to sit at gates and stamp hands for re-entry to The Fair. Some gates under cover, others outdoors with no protection from the weather.
Friendly, able-bodied individuals to direct traffic in parking lots. Must read and interpret all types of passes/tickets. Stands for entire shift. Exposure to all weather conditions. Minimum age requirement 16 years by start of Fair.
Parking Ticket Seller
Friendly, able-bodied responsible adult with experience in handling cash and issuing change, and customer service.. Contact with the public at a fast pace. Person stands for the entire shift. Exposure to all weather conditions. 1 position is a weekend shift from 1 p.m.-10 p.m.
Refuse Removal Crew
Able-bodied person to push full wheeled refuse tots through fair-goers to compactor location. Then return empty tots back. Some rash containers to be re-lined with plastic bags. Gloves provided. Must be able to lift 40 lbs. Exposed to all weather conditions. Minimum age requirement 16 years by start of Fair..
Able-bodied person to restock paper products in assigned area(s). Pick up litter, mop floors, empty refuse containers located inside restrooms. Clean immediate area outside restroom entries and exits. Must be able to walk, bend and lift up to 20 lbs.
Trolley / Tractor Driver
Friendly, able-bodied responsible adult must have experience driving a tractor. Valid WA driver's license required. Emphasis is on safely transporting fair-goers, so must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Able-bodied person to assist fair-goers on and off trolley. Extensive walking and climbing on and off the trolley. Need to ensure safety of passengers. Work in direct contact with the public. Customer service a must. Must be able to walk, bend and lift up to 20 lbs. Emphasis is on safely transporting fair-goers, so must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

Fair Food Booth Positions During Fair
Evergreen State Fair does not hire for food concessions. Applications are processed through Work Source. WorkSource will be on-site at the Fairgrounds on dates Aug 21-24 to assist job seekers and vendors. (See WorkSource Recruitment flyer.)

Work At The Carnival
Evergreen State Fair does no hiring for the carnival. For carnival employment, apply directly at the carnival office, which will be located on the Fairgrounds sometime the week before Fair opens.
