WA State Spring BBQ Championship is here and it's better than ever with BBQ Vendors, sampling ~and they have brought back the People's Choice Judging - YES, YOU CAN DO A LOT OF EATING!!!!
This fun family-orientated event will feature top notch competition BBQ teams from across the Pacific Northwest. Competitors will by vying for a share of the cash purse and qualify for a chance at an invitation to the prestigious Jack Daniels Invitation BBQ Championships. With all these great BBQ teams together in one place firing up their smokers and letting that wonderfully savory aroma waft over the fairgrounds we can't go without offering delectable samples to the public. Have no fear there will be BBQ samples for sale Saturday and Sunday to directly benefit the Monroe Youth Football Association. Samples will be sold from a single location until they are gone. All BBQ meat is cooked on site so you are getting your samples fresh from the pits.
Getting to decide who actually has the best BBQ of the weekend falls on the taste buds of certified BBQ judges. The PNWBA will be hosting a Certified BBQ Judge (CBJ) class on Saturday morning starting at 9:00am sharp. The class will consist of rules, regulations, what makes good BBQ, and sampling of the four meats. Once certified as a PNWBA BBQ judge you become eligible to judge at any PNWBA sanctioned event. Events are held all of the Pacific Northwest from British Columbia to Washington to Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Saskatchawn and back down to California. The class fee includes a one year PNWBA member as well as your PNWBA CBJ badge. Ready to take the class? Registration starts by printing out this registration form and sending it in.
Ready to step out and compete? The PNWBA welcomes cooks of all abilities and experience. To register your team for the Championship visit the Washington State Spring BBQ Championship website.
As the Expo wraps up join us at center stage Sunday afternoon at approximately 4:30pm with Miss Sky Valley for the awards presentations.
