Seasonal Fair Positions

The 2014 Fair Employment Application is now available!   Note: there are several forms needed to complete your packet including the Employment Application, W4, I-9 (you only have to fill out page 7, but print pages 7 and 8), Consent To Release Information form, DataQuest Background Check form (only fill out DataQuest form if you have lived outside of Washington state in last 10 years) and the Voluntary Affirmative Action Data form.   You MUST have the latest version of Adobe Reader to be able to see and print some of these forms.  Click here to download Adobe Reader.

 

Turn in the completed application; W4; I-9 plus copies of the required identification; and the background form(s)  all of which must be completed before we will accept the application. You may find the list of acceptable documents of Identification on page 9 of the I-9 package.

 

Remember - parents/guardians of minors 14 - 17 years of age must fill out the section on page 2 of the Employment application.

 

 

Admission Ticket Seller:

Responsible adult with experience in handling cash, and working in direct contact with the public. Will be using Credit Card Machines and computer software to sell tickets. Prior experience is not required, but ability to learn computer systems quickly is necessary. Duties include selling tickets,and reconciling cash and credit card slips. Work performed inside ticket booth.

 

Admission Ticket Scanner:

People oriented individual to scan tickets from people entering the Fair and hand out flyers/bags. Some gates are under cover, some are outdoors with no protection from the weather.

Barn Cleaner (overnight):

Able bodied responsible hardworking persons to perform stall maintenance; shoveling, pushing wheelbarrows, etc. During cleaning hours the barns are closed to the public. Work performed inside building. Previous experience working around livestock preferred. Minimum age requirement: 18 years at time of hire.

 

Cage Cashier :

Responsible adult with experience in handling and reconciling cash, and bookkeeping. Experience with money counters, adding machines, and spreadsheet software such as Excel. Work performed inside a building.

 

Customer Service Technician:

Able-bodied person to work independently as assigned. Pick up litter, wipe up tables in assigned area. Exposure to all weather conditions. Walking and bending required. Must be able to walk, bend and lift up to 20 lbs.

Entertainment Ticket Seller: Responsible adult with experience in handling cash and working direct contact with the public. Entertainment Usher/Ticket Scanner: Responsible adult to admit persons into entertainment venues. Employee will be working directly with the public in a fast-paced, noisy environment. Must be able to enforce posted policies, answer questions, work in a crowded area, and stand for extended periods of time. Exposure to all weather conditions.

 

Gate Attendant : Able bodied, mature, responsible adult to admit persons and vehicles entering gates. Must understand and enforce management policies. Assist parking crew as directed. Outside; exposed to all weather conditions. 

 

Gate Lead : Able bodied, responsible adult to oversee daily operations of assigned gate(s), including, but not limited to, admission sales, customer questions and concerns, and act as a liaison between sellers, cashiers, and customers. Able to understand job requirements of other positions including Cage Cashiers and Ticket Sellers.

Graveyard Maintenance Refuse Removal Crew: Able-bodied responsible adult; Ability to manipulate tractor with two trailers, (total pulling length approximately 25 feet), required. Pick-up and removal of refuse from containers throughout the fairgrounds. Ability to lift 40 lbs. Exposed to all weather conditions. Shift is from 11:00pm - 6:30am. Minimum age requirement 18 years at time of hire.

 

Graveyard Maintenance-Tractor Driver:Able-bodied responsible adult; must have experience driving a tractor. Valid driver's license required. Ability to manipulate tractor with two trailers, (total pulling length approximately 25 feet), required. Oversee and assist two helpers in pick-up and removal of refuse from containers throughout the fairgrounds. Must manipulate tractor/trailer within dense crowds, tables, etc. Emphasis is on safely navigating through fair-goers, so must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Assist in loading refuse during high maintenance times. Exposed to all weather conditions. Shift is from 11:00pm - 6:30am. Minimum age requirement 18 years at time of hire.

 

Grounds Grooming Crew Lead: Able bodied, responsible adult to work with and supervise a grounds grooming crew in general clean-up of Fairgrounds. Cleaning off and wiping down tables and benches, sweeping, and litter pick up as required. Extensive walking and bending is required. Assigned to a specific area within the grounds. Work performed outside. Exposure to all weather conditions.

Hand Stamper:Mature individuals to sit at gates and stamp hands for re-entry to The Fair. Some gates under cover, others outdoors with no protection from the weather.

 

Parking Attendant:Able-bodied individuals to direct traffic in parking lots. Must read and interpret all types of passes/tickets. Stands for entire shift. Exposure to all weather conditions. 1 position is a weekend shift from 3:00pm -12:00am. Minimum age requirement 16 years at time of hire.

 

Parking Ticket Seller: Able-bodied responsible adult with experience in handling cash and issuing change. Contact with the public at a fast pace. Person stands for the entire shift. Exposure to all weather conditions. 1 position is a weekend shift from 1:00pm -10:00pm.

 

Refuse Removal Tractor Driver: Able-bodied responsible adult; must have experience driving a tractor. Valid driver's license required. Ability to manipulate tractor with two trailers, (total pulling length approximately 25 feet), required. Oversee and assist two helpers in pick-up and removal of refuse from containers throughout the fairgrounds. Refuse Removal Crew:Able-bodied person to pick refuse bag out of can and dump in trailer or transport wheeled refuse tots through fair-goers to compactor location. Re-line trash containers with plastic bags. Gloves and apron provided. Must be able to lift 40 lbs. Exposed to all weather conditions. Afternoon/evening shifts only. Minimum age requirement 16 years at time of hire.

 

 

 

Restroom Technician:Able-bodied person to restock paper products in assigned area(s). Pick up litter, mop floors, empty refuse containers located inside restrooms. Clean immediate area outside restroom entries and exits. Must be able to walk, bend and lift up to 20 lbs.

 
 

Trolley/Tractor Driver:Able-bodied responsible adult must have experience driving a tractor. Valid WA driver's license required. Emphasis is on safely transporting fair-goers, so must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

 

 

Trolley Helper: Able-bodied person to assist fair-goers on and off trolley. Extensive walking and climbing on and off the trolley. Need to ensure safety of passengers. Work in direct contact with the public. Customer service a must. Must be able to walk, bend and lift up to 20 lbs.  Emphasis is on safely transporting fair-goers, so must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

 

 

Department Clerks

 

If you have been pre-approved by the Superintendents to work in their departments you may fill out and print the 2014 Clerk Application..   You MUST have the latest version of Adobe Reader to be able to see and print some of these forms.  Click here to download Adobe Reader.    All clerk applications must be turned in by July 1, 2014.  Late applications will not be accepted.

Food Positions in booths during Fair

Evergreen State Fair does no hiring for Food Concessions.  Applications are processed through Work Source. you may apply in person at your nearest Work Source location - see below. All food handling positions require a Food Handlers Permit. Contact the Snohomish County Health Department at www.snohd.org for dates, times, and fees required for food handler testing.

Evergreen State Fair does no hiring for the Carnival.  For carnival employment; apply directly at the carnival office, which will be located on the Fairgrounds sometime the week before Fair opens.
